Love Blossom
“Inspired by the floral haze of secret gardens, Blossom Love from Amouage marries sweet cherry blossom nectar with romantic rose. The heart of ylang-ylang and amaretto are trailed by warming tonka bean and vanilla, for an enduringly fragrant bouquet with an alluring finish”.
Amouage’s ‘Blossom Love’ was initially love-at-first-sniff. It was so intoxicatingly dreamy, that it made me feel like an excited wet-pantied teenager at a BTS concert. Initially it was all I’d ever dreamed of - beautiful floral, sexy, feminine and unique. I loved how even though the bottle was pink, it didn’t smell too girly, sickly nor sweet, it was just perfect.
After the initial spray and for the first few hours the rose, ylang-ylang and blossom are the 3 main characters which comfort and caress your senses, like Destiny’s Child harmonising angelically. But rather than Beyoncé taking solo stage later on, they all slip away leaving my worst nightmare... vanilla, vanilla, vanilla and more sickly-sweet vanilla. I hate vanilla as it’s the friend you don’t invite to parties since it covers you in thick, creamy, jizz-custard, so ruins everything and makes you feel nauseous.
I was all ready to buy a bottle until the dry-down struck.
