Divine

This is the perfect luxury soap smell. I've always kept bars of soap in with my clothes drawers and have wanted this scent as a fragrance, and then I discovered 'Divine'.

The violet is prominent (almost a little too prominent for my liking) but I like how it dazzles my nostrils with purple delight. Although not officially listed, I detect iris. There’s a little jasmine, then the aldehydes envelope a sparkling mist to the entire uplifting concoction. It’s quite simply, fresh, soapy cleanliness.

Unlike some floral aldehydes, ‘Divine’ doesn't smell vintage, it's just modern, vibrant, floral and clean. It's almost like the modern-day great granddaughter of Lanvin's ‘Arpege’ as it's just so easy to wear for any occasion, season or outfit.

I have others from the Boadicea range and adore the quality, longevity and silage but unfortunately 'Divine' stays close to the skin and only lasts 4-6 hours (lasting longer on clothing than skin). After initially being disappointed with the poor longevity, I began only spraying it on my clothes, as it lasts a longer upon fabric.

For a solid year, I kept coming back to this fragrance - I absolutely worshipped at ‘Divine’s’ alter. I usually grow tired of scents and eventually fall out of love, but this I grew more fond of with every spray (and it takes around 8-10 sprays to fully appreciate - then it lasts all day). It’s my lasting memory of wearing it to Beyonce’s now legendary ‘Lemonade’ tour during the open-air British summertime. It's so wearable, fresh, beautiful, not stuffy nor vintage and 100% non-offensive. I was ‘Divine’s’ biggest fan. But then I discovered others in Boadicea The Victorious range (like ‘Imperial’ and ‘Jubilee’) and my fickle heart was stolen again.
