Fleur De Lalita
An oriental, big, white floral, what’s not to love?
‘Fleur De Lalita’ primarily is a musky floral, made much more interesting with the inclusion of Mysore sandalwood and ambergris. She has a classic screen-star elegance from a golden time gone by.
Three of her florals shine the brightest; heady lily, lemony-smooth magnolia and the sharp green of galbanum. This combined with musky ambrette and the rich balsamic softness of sandalwood, and you’ve got yourself ‘Fleur De Lalita’. She billows in the breeze with her fresh white bedsheet laundry florals. Like Sharon Stone in ‘Basic Instinct’, she exists in a white, airy and spacious beach-front property, where she keeps extravagant vases of cut-flowers from her anonymous lovers.
I much prefer this to ‘La Doucher de Siam’ in my preference for soapy florals, as it’s much smoother and pensive. ‘Fleur De Lalita’ is a sensual and sophisticated woman who doesn’t go out of her way to be unnecessarily sweet and unapologetically owns who she is, whilst ‘La Doucher de Siam’ (as beautiful and as beloved as she is) remains the eternal romantic fantasist.
With her classic Hollywood style glamour, ‘Fleur De Lalita’ is a candle in the wind when it comes to longevity. Her finale gives the galbanum a final attempt at a sharp green ending, before her candle burned out (long before her legend ever did).
