Entre Naranjos
'Entre Naranjos' from Ramon Monegal’s Classics Collection is a sexy zest of flamboyant orange that’s spicy and seductive. It might be stereotypical to embrace the simple orange as inspiration behind the Spanish niche brand from Barcelona - but Spain accounts for 25% of citrus export worldwide. The brand is proud to be Spanish and takes inspiration from its Balearic islands to its flamenco dance. Ramon Monegal created 'Entre Naranjos' to celebrate his 50th birthday, to make his party unforgettable for his guests. He successfully recreated a courtyard of orange trees in blossom, combining the white florals of jasmine and tuberose and imagined a perfume with light and passion. It’s officially described as “Natural, transparent and sincere. A festive statement of vitality.”
The scent is full of life but never overwhelms as it remains light, vibrant and fresh. The orange with the jasmine and the tuberose reminds me of the best aspects of Amouage’s ‘Ubar’. ‘Entre Naranjos’ is what Tom Ford’s ‘Neroli Portofino’ should have become if it wasn’t so wimpy, ephemeral and watery. It’s spicy and although it has cinnamon with the orange, it’s not Christmassy. It’s juicy with lasting power that remains surprisingly light and airy. The vanilla is barely there, it just adds balance in the base, so it never becomes sweet. It’s perfectly unisex.
Ramon Monegal is the niche brand you don’t know you’re missing.
