Rose Des Reves

This has the most beautiful start, so alive, juicy and fruity. I’d fallen in love immediately, but as the fragrance progressed against the warmth of my skin, a smokiness came through. This smokiness is metallic and comes from the white oud which grows in smoky strength over time. I loved the vibrant sweetness in the opening (from the Bulgarian and Taif roses) but the metallic, musty, white oud makes it much less delightful. This haunting, white-charcoal smokiness is the kind of rose-based fragrance that a man could wear. Sillage and longevity are both brilliant. The dry-down becomes a resinous, woody rose as the smoke finally dissipates.

‘Rose Des Reves’ is the hot white smouldering charcoal of white oud on a woody, rose base.

Notes – Bulgarian Rose, Taif Rose, Damask Rose, Olibanum, Cedar
